Shoal is distributed through the App Store and Google Play. Use of the app is governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (or Google Play's equivalent terms), together with the points below.
Shoal is a record-keeping and reference tool for aquarium hobbyists. Its parameter ranges, stocking calculations, disease library and AI answers are general hobby guidance drawn from mainstream aquarium references. They are not veterinary advice and are not a substitute for a vet who treats fish, particularly for a valuable animal or a persistent illness.
Aquariums vary enormously. Always confirm dosing against the product label, check medications for invertebrate and plant safety before use, and watch your animals rather than the numbers. You are responsible for decisions you make about your tank and its inhabitants.
Shoal is free to use on one tank. Shoal Pro is available as an auto-renewing subscription or a one-time purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial, if one is offered, is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
Your tank data belongs to you. Export it whenever you want from Settings. Shoal does not claim any rights over it. An account is optional and exists only to back up and sync that data; you can delete it, and everything stored with it, from Settings → Account at any time.
The app is provided as-is. Features that depend on third parties — purchases and the optional AI assistant — may be temporarily unavailable. Everything else is designed to keep working offline.
